Partners In Prevention (PIP)
This statewide coalition focuses on preventing high-risk drinking among Missouri’s college students. PIP is composed of representatives from each of Missouri’s 12 state colleges and universities and is underwritten by grants from the U.S. Department of Education and the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse. Their mission is to create a campus, city, and state environment that supports responsible decision making in regards to alcohol by the college students who attend the public higher education institutions in the state of Missouri. PIP’s focus is on lowering the binge-drinking rate on Missouri college and university campuses.
The BACCHUS Network
The BACCHUS Network is an international association of college and university-based peer education programs focusing on alcohol abuse prevention and other student health and safety issues. Their mission is to actively promote peer education as a useful element of campus health education and wellness efforts. Through education and activities designed to increase awareness of changing student health and safety issues, the BACCHUS Network focuses on the development and promotion of positive lifestyles and decision-making skills.
The Network
The Network is the national organization that proactively addresses the issues of alcohol, other drugs, and violence in order to promote healthy campus environments through self- regulatory initiatives, information dissemination, and technical assistance. The Network serves as a liaison between the U.S. Department of Education and member institutions as well as other higher education professional organizations.Member institutions encourage and enhance local, state, regional, and national initiatives through a commitment to shared standards for policy development, educational strategies, enforcement, evaluation, and community collaboration.
Missouri Partners in Environmental Change
Partners in Environmental Change (PIEC) is a statewide coalition focused on preventing underage drinking among Missouri’s college students and their peers. The coalition is composed of judicial officers and campus and community law enforcement officers from each of Missouri’s 12 state colleges and universities. The coalition is funded by the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse to support campus and community coalitions and law enforcement activities which discourage and prevent the underage use of alcohol and the associated negative consequences.
CASE
CASE, or Campus-Community Alliances for Smoke-Free Environments, is a group of researchers and experts on the health effects of secondhand smoke with expertise in addictions, health promotion, psychology, public health, strategic communication and project evaluation. Their team of professionals, in partnership with already existing statewide organizations, is working to improve the health of Missouri communities and campuses, complement existing tobacco control efforts, and build an infrastructure that can sustain successful programs for years to come.
